Hair cross,single and rotatable

Basically this function has been programmed to measure or to compare angles of work

pieces. This function is used, for example, to measure the point angle of drills with

three cutting edges or sub land twist drills.

Point angle measurement

As it can be seen here the point angle of a drill with three cutting edges is to be

measured. The blue hair cross can be shifted in the X-and Y axis. The red hair cross is

rotateable.After having screwed in the drill, the centre of the hair cross is applied

precisely to the top of the drill. Then the rotatable hair cross is applied to the cutting

edge. By using the right mouse button and "Enter object" the angle value is displayed

in the image with the according hair cross.

Sub land twist drill measurement

The hair cross is drawn on the plane of the drill and the angle adjusted. So the

cutting edge is defined precisely. Afterwards, the measurement is entered into the

table via the right mouse button "enter object". Now the hair cross is drawn onto the

second cutting edge,the angle adjusted and prompted into the table.
