The thread is presented in transmitted light and has a focussed  shadow.

For these measurements the parallelunder lights

(ordering number  CV-PPL green or blue)  are mandatory

After starting this function in the menu "Measure" - "Drills",

click on 5 points, one after the other (see lower image):

Point 1+2 on the outer diameter on top,

point 3 on the root diameter on top,

point 4 on the root diameter below, as well as

point 5 on th eouter diameter below.

After the fifth click, the result immediatly appears in the

following order:

- flank diameter

- outer diameter

- root diameter 

From the click points, the centres between the respective

exrerior and interior are calculated. Following this method

the distance of these centres generates the flank diameter.

CAUTION : This dimension is proper only, if the roundings

at the inner and outer part of the threat are symmetrical. For

all other cases this dimension presents an approximation

only. If the roundings are known (e.g. H/6 and H/5 at metric

threads),the flank diameter can be calculated again.
